Revitalizing the Commercial Bank of Ceylon’s User Experience

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon is a cornerstone of Sri Lanka’s financial landscape, serving millions of customers with a wide range of banking solutions. However, as user expectations evolve, the bank’s digital platform has faced challenges in meeting modern usability and aesthetic standards. This project aimed to transform the digital banking experience, creating a seamless, intuitive interface that empowers users while staying true to the brand's legacy of trust and reliability.

Goal

The goal of this redesign was to modernize the Commercial Bank’s digital platform, making it more user-friendly and visually engaging. By improving navigation, enhancing interactivity, and incorporating modern design elements, the project sought to deliver a superior online banking experience that aligns with contemporary customer expectations and drives higher engagement.

The Challenge

The redesign posed two significant challenges:

Preserving Functionality While Innovating:
Ensuring that the existing features and components remained functional and familiar to long-time users while updating the interface with a modern design.

Streamlining Intuitive Interactions:
Addressing outdated workflows and simplifying complex processes to reduce friction in the user journey. Through a thoughtful and research-driven approach, the project reimagined the platform to enhance accessibility, usability, and user satisfaction, solidifying the Commercial Bank’s position as a leader in digital banking innovation.
